In the early morning hours on Sunday, July 28, 2018, the 80th piece of public art was added to the City of Sarasota’s public art collection! According to artist Jorge Blanco ‘Bravo’ is, “trying to express the vibrant spirit of music, dance, visual art and theater with a personal iconography, by representing music, color, rhythm.”

More that 160 pieces of art were submitted for consideration to be placed in the new roundabout at the intersection of Orange Ave and Ringling Blvd. The Public Art Committee then had the difficult task of narrowing it down to three finalist. In November of 2016 the Committee recommended Blanco’s ‘Bravo’ which was approved by the City Commission on December 5, 2016.
