Event Navigation

Sarasota’s Hyatt Regency (1000 Boulevard of the Arts) will be hosting the annual FWS convention that runs from Sept 27 through Sept 30.  Registration for the event is at FWS’s website www.floridawatercolorsociety.org and admits artists and art enthusiasts to lectures, demonstrations, trade show and other festivities and learning experiences.  One can also register for individual critique by noted artists or to attend the gala awards banquet at the Hyatt Saturday evening.

In addition to the venue at the Hyatt, the best 100 works (selected by juror Thomas Schaller, international star of the watercolor world) will be on display at Art Center Manatee (209 9th St W, Bradenton, FL) from September 7 through October 26 with a reception Friday evening Sept 28 from 5 to 7:30.  Gallery access is FREE and open to the public.

FWS is the largest state watercolor society in the USA.  The annual convention moves to different locations each year and occurs here in Sarasota once every 5 to 8 years!  FWS also gives back to the community by offering scholarships and donating award winning art work to local hospitals.
