Creating Magic in Your Watercolors with Ron Stocke – Visiting Artist Workshop, Ron Stocke
March 20 - March 22
$475Event Navigation

During this three day watercolor workshop artist Ron Stocke will help students avoid bad habits, push past the rules that we as watercolorists have imposed on each other and free up your painting style.
Each morning Ron will pick a subject ( Cityscapes, marine, interiors, etc.) and demonstrate his techniques on how to paint a successful watercolor. After his demo he will spend time with each student to help break through any issues they may be having and encourage them to find and explore their own unique style. Students will paint until about an hour before class ends in which time Ron will do his second demo of the day. This demo will be on the elements of the morning painting. He will isolate and breakdown how he approaches the main elements (perspective, painting figures, color and values, etc.).
Ron will also focus on some of the basics that will help every level of artist.
The difference between drawing for a painting and drawing for finished work.
Why achieving strong values can change your work overnight.
Why creating mood is always better than being accurate.
Even the age old question “what’s that color”?
And much more…
Students should take this opportunity to stretch themselves and think not like a watercolorist but a painter
