Divine Imagination and the Evolution of Consciousness
November 15 : 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Lecture: Friday, November 15, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Workshop: Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Dr. Galin McGowan will explore the role of imagination in Carl Jung’s development of Analytical psychology and in our own consciousness. Jung’s work with imagination is directly relevant to our current evolution of consciousness and our psychological health and well-being. As we collectively step into the future with technology, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and new revelations about the nature of reality, we are being challenged to adapt at a very rapid pace. During this process, suffering occurs when new paradigms do not yet hold a meaningful narrative of relationship with the Divine. In this lecture and workshop, we will explore how Jung’s work with the imagination and the theories of Teilhard de Chardin, Terence Mckenna, and others contribute to the use of imagination toward creating new collective narratives of meaning and a deepening of collective consciousness. In the Saturday workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the practice of active imagination, active play, and psychodrama as methods of accessing the unconscious.
Dr. Galin McGowan, Ph.D, is a Jungian Analyst, Diploma graduate of the C. G.
