Electronic Music II: Algorithms and Sequences in Live Performance
December 8 : 3:00 pm - 4:30 pmFree
We can imagine electronics and computers as instruments, or tools for making a sound. But what happens when composers also start to use electronic and digital means to control the flow of sounds and structure musical time? In this concert, we begin from the humble step sequencer, a way of ordering a group of sounds or notes, and build outward to explore algorithmic composition and techniques for compelling live electronic performance. All music is created and performed by New College students in Electronic Music II.
