Kintsugi is the traditional Japanese art of repairing ceramics. Rooted in wabi-sabi, this art form originated sometime in the 15th century and to this day remains a globally rare and treasured technique at its highest level. This spring, Longhaus is partnering with David Pike from Nara, Japan to bring you an authentic kintsugi experience.

Traditional Kintsugi Presentation

David’s morning lecture will reveal its history and traditional techniques dating back to the 15th century. After lunch, he will complete a technique presentation with an open discussion session. Our 3-hour brass workshop will follow.
