This is the third program in a series of five that will focus on the Civil Rights Era.  All programs are FREE and OPEN to the public.

Theme for the entire Series:  “The Civil Rights Era-A Look Back at the 1960s”

 

“Keeping Jackie Robinson Alive” with Presenters:  Barry Zamoff and Richard Zamoff

These twin brothers, originally from New York, are long-time residents of Venice.  In 1996, they founded The Jackie Robinson Project at George Washington University.  The Zamoff brothers will share the story of a great athlete who broke “baseball’s color line” and worked for equal rights throughout his life.

The Betty Intagliata Lecture Series:  Sponsored by the Venice Area Historical Society (VAHS).  Permanent funding for the Betty Intagliata Lecture Series is provided by the Bill Jervey, Jr. Charitable Foundation.
