Sarasota Orchestra Presents: Beethoven’s Ghost

October 31 : 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

$38

Event Navigation

Spend Halloween with the bewitching sounds of Schoenberg and Beethoven. The concert opens with a charming wind quintet by Austrian composer Alexander Zemlinsky. Verklärte nacht, heard here in its original version for string sextet, describes the conversation between a man and woman walking through a dark forest at night. Beethoven’s piano trio acquired its nickname “Ghost” as a result of its eerie sounding second movement.
