Sarasota Orchestra Presents: Music of the Americas

March 31 : 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

$25

Event Navigation

Savor a distinctly Latin flavor of exciting discovery. Puerto Rican composer Cordero will have you dancing in your seat. Golijov’s Last Round, at once driving and dreamlike, is an imaginative homage to tango. Copland’s Clarinet Concerto was composed when he was living in Rio de Janeiro.  Commissioned by Benny Goodman, it is distinctive for its jazzy elements. In the closing work, Argentinian composer Ginastera presents a delicious, folk-inspired soundscape of his homeland.
