Stage of Discovery: A Journey to Motown

The teen participants of Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe’s Stage of Discovery program will present a musical revue, A Journey to Motown, as the culmination of the summer musical theater intensive. The teens will take a whimsical journey to the Historical Motown Museum and learn about the most powerful musical institute in the world through the unique universal sound that still captivates the world. The musical, which features many of the most popular Motown hits, including “Dancing in the Street,” “Stop in the Name of Love,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” celebrates the legendary artistry of the Motown era, including the Supremes, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye and many more. Book by WBTT founder and artistic director Nate Jacobs, along with Adrienne Pitts; Jacobs will direct. Tickets, which are $27/adults, $17/students and go on sale June 10, are available at westcoastblacktheatre.org or by calling the Box Office, 941-366-1505.
