The Stearns Point Quartet at the Sarasota Art Museum

March 29 : 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$15

Event Navigation

The Stearns Point Quartet was formed on Shelter Island, NY in October of 2022, practically by chance, when four long-time friends and colleagues (KJ McDonald and Phoebe Gardner, violins, Julian Seney, viola, and Leland Ko, cello) had the chance to do some community engagement events with the Perlman Music Program. As they worked together for a few days, performed, and presented music to other musicians and to schools in the area, they discovered that their long-time friendship, their love for chamber music and for storytelling, was something worth pursuing together, even if they lived in different places.

The Stearns Point Quartet will be performing at Thomas McGuire Hall at the Sarasota Art Museum, 1001 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34236.

Their recital program will include:

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Divertimento in D major, K. 136
  • Ludwig van Beethoven, String quartet in B-flat major (op. 18, no 6)
  • John Cage, FOUR
  • Felix Mendelssohn, String quartet in F minor (op. 80, no. 6)

Tickets are available for $15 through the Perlman Music Program Suncoast website: pmpsuncoast.org.
