Calling Artists for Native American Art Exhibit: Giving Thanks

The Sarasota Peace Education and Action center is calling for artists to join us in celebrating Native American culture through art and performance!

While most Americans continue a Thanksgiving Day tradition based on romantic notions that Pilgrims and Indians are equal, Native Americans reflect on a history of lies and deceit that diminished the American Indian population by 90 percent.

That is why November is Native American Heritage month and Fogartyville Community Media and Art Center will be celebrating with the opening of its World Culture Series event and this art exhibition, Native America: Giving Thanks.

We will be accepting submissions now through November 10, 2019 – there is no cost and no age limit to enter. Students, professionals, and emerging artists are all encouraged to participate!

To Apply: Please submit 3 jpeg images of your choice to be considered for this exhibit.
Send jpeg images to Pamela Callender, Curator via email

Entry Requirements: Any visual art 2D medium, ready to hang (wired with D-rings), up to 60” in width/height. Fogartyville will also accept Native American performance, textile and culinary art vendors.

Please contact Arlene Sweeting at or 941-894-6469 with any questions. We look forward to seeing your submissions!
