Arts Spark Creativity and Innovation
Randy Cohen of Americans for the Arts creates an annual list of 10 Reasons to Support the Arts. Here at the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County, we are fortunate to see all of these reasons at the local level. This summer we are going to showcase a local example to support each of Cohen’s reasons.
Arts spark creativity and innovation.
Creativity is among the top 5 applied skills sought by business leaders, per the Conference Board’s Ready to Innovate report—with 72 percent saying creativity is of high importance when hiring. Research on creativity shows that Nobel laureates in the sciences are 17 times more likely to be actively engaged in the arts than other scientists.
In Sarasota County Ringling College of Art + Design provides a world-class, innovative, creative education since 1931!
Ringling offers Bachelors of Fine Arts in twelve disciplines and Bachelors of Arts in two. In addition to rigorous academics, creativity and collaboration are fueled with community projects, internships, and competitions.
Ringling College President Dr. Larry Thompson states, ” Bring your creativity and passion. We will help you master and apply it to the most creative, meaningful, and purpose-filled career you can imagine.”
