Assistant Production Manager
The Sarasota Orchestra currently has a full-time job opening for an Assistant Production Manager.
The successful candidate will oversee all orchestra setups, technical logistics and production requirements for Orchestra programs and functions as assigned by the Production Manager. Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):
· Oversee all orchestra service setups and technical logistics (Masterworks, Pops, GE’s, Soiree’s and Chamber run-outs); oversee setups for Youth Orchestra, Sarasota Music Festival and Summer Music Camp · Manage Part-Time Production staff · Coordinate orchestra set-ups with production team, Technical Director and Food and Beverage Coordinator; work closely with Operations Staff · Supervise and manage all technical aspects of orchestra concerts and rehearsals/compliance with technical riders · Stage Manage concerts and rehearsals · Coordinate and transport equipment to performance venues · Operate sound and lighting systems as needed · Operate VISIO program for orchestra setups · Liaison with IATSE (and non union house crews) and Orchestra The successful candidate will possess: · High School Diploma or equivalent · 1+ years’ experience with orchestra production/operations · Knowledge of orchestral instrumentation/setups · Ability to lift up to 65 pounds overhead; ability to lift 100 pound harp · Valid Driver’s License · Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor · Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends · Excel and word experience (OPAS experience preferred) · Strong attention to detail and accuracy · Ability to maintain positive relationships with conductors, musicians and staff · Ability to work well in a team environment If you are interested in applying for this position, please submit a cover letter and resume to Kelly Norton, Human Resources department: KNorton@SarasotaOrchestra.org.
