Marketing & Communications Director: Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe seeks a F/T marketing & communications director to handle and oversee all facets of the organization’s marketing and public relations efforts, to support ticket sales, assist in donor cultivation and satisfaction, and maintain positive relations with the media. As WBTT is a theatre company on the cusp of tremendous growth, the Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans that will enhance the organization’s reach while maintaining its stellar reputation. Primary responsibilities to include marketing planning, budget reporting, and oversight of external vendors; brand management; public relations; and community relations. You will work closely with and report directly to the Executive Director and the Artistic Director to ensure the continuation of the artistic product, financial stability, and core values of the organization. Experience and qualifications to include: BA/BS in marketing and communications or comparable professional experience; at least 5 years of marketing and public relations work experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of marketing and PR in the nonprofit sector; ability to prioritize and manage workload, with excellent multi-tasking skills; ability to serve multiple constituents – the media, board of directors, colleagues, and donors; and technical skills or at least knowledge in the areas of graphic design, social media, and website management. Must be able to track and report on the effectiveness of various outreach methods. Ideal candidate would have theater and/or arts experience.
