Responsibilities: Work at a variety of assigned posts & events in all buildings on the museum grounds and Asolo Repertory Theater; patrol buildings & grounds on foot & golf cart; responsible for the safety of all staff/visitors; protection of collection, buildings, grounds; & occasionally utilize computers to write reports, send correspondence, & submit work orders.

Duties include:
Guarding against theft, vandalism, other damage. Assisting with urgent/emergency situations, such as accidents/injuries, medical emergencies, theft, vandalism, & other incidents calmly & in a timely manner. Conducting daily inspections of assigned areas & escorting staff/guests. Monitor visitor activity to ensure adherence to museum/Asolo policies & procedures. Customer service oriented to include enforcing policies & interacting with guests, & briefly responding to visitor/staff requests & questions to the best of their ability in a courteous manner &/or direct them to where they can find the information.

High school diploma/equivalent required. Must have the ability to communicate orally & in writing, as well as via computer & two-way radio. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk significant distances, patrol multi-story buildings, & climb stairs to respond to emergencies. Valid driver’s license is required. Requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.

Schedule/Salary: Part-time, approximately 28 hours per week @ $10.50 per hour. Weekends, evenings, & holidays may be required.
