New Venice Library

From the Director of Libraries for Sarasota County Sarabeth Kalajian’s presentation:

At the recent joint meeting between Sarasota County and the City of Venice, a report was given on the progress of the construction of the new William H. Jervey, Jr. Venice Public Library.

If you have had an opportunity to pass by the site, you know that the exterior walls are up!  The roughed-in window frames and front entrance-way loggia are beginning to reveal the Venetian architectural theme. One can also see the space that will be devoted to an outdoor reading garden.

We are so grateful for the creative and diligent efforts of Sweet Sparkman Architects and the Ajax/Tandem Construction team, working closely with the Sarasota County Project Manager and Capital Projects staff. The project is moving forward rapidly, with visible changes each and every day.

Our heartfelt “thank you” to Dr. Jervey and all who have contributed so generously to support the library project. Your gifts enhance the creation of a library that will continue a long tradition of engaging programs, a vibrant collection, and responsive service for Venice area residents of all ages . . . now and in the future.
