Part-Time Production Assistant

The Sarasota Orchestra currently has a job opening for a Production Assistant (part-time). The P/T Production Assistant will assist in the setup and teardown of Sarasota Orchestra and Youth Orchestra events, Friedman Symphony Center rentals, and other functions as needed. You will work approximately 20-30 hours/week during the Orchestra’s season (November – May). Responsibilities for this position will include executing set ups for Sarasota Orchestra and Youth Orchestra services in all performance venues and for rentals at the Friedman Symphony Center, loading/unloading orchestra equipment truck for transport to other venues, assisting Facilities Manager in all aspects of building operations/maintenance, acting as a stagehand for Sarasota Orchestra and Youth Orchestra services when needed, properly operating lighting systems in the Friedman Symphony Center and maintaining positive relationships with orchestra musicians, conductors, staff, Youth Orchestra parents, students, volunteers and co-workers. The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to: work well in a team environment, work under supervision and independently, work long hours during season, and work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends). Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds. Experience with orchestra production/operations a plus.
