Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing Contest

The Tampa Bay Times Newspaper in Education program’s annual Science Fiction and Fantasy writing contest for high school students is open for 2019-2020.

This year’s contest theme is “I never wanted to be a hero…”. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts including professional fantasy and science fiction authors Scott Edelman, Marissa Lingen and Rick Wilber. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $200 grand prize and an invitation to read the winning story as a presenting author at the 2020 Tampa Bay Times Festival of Reading, while runners up will receive a $25 prize.
