The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Seeks Curatorial Research Fellow

The Curatorial Fellow, on a 12-month visiting A&P appointment, works under the supervision of the Curator of Collections to primarily conduct research related to the re-installation of the permanent collection galleries at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and to exhibitions that will be installed over the next few years.

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to 6 years. Relevant training may substitute for experience.

Knowledge of collections development, acquisitions, and cataloguing.

Ability to understand and interpret terminology related to area of work.

Knowledge of and ability to apply the processes, procedures and methods used in museum operations in compliance with applicable governing entities such as the American Association of Museums.

Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

Master’s degree in Art History or related field.

Reading knowledge of at least one European language, with a preference for Italian.
